Priorities

•Unlike some of our neighboring counties where extensive residential development has occurred, our District has not yet worked on storm water runoff from new commercial and residential development. We need a representative for the District who will prioritize issues related to development. The SWCC staff needs the District supervisors to make this a priority.

•As new developments are built, storm water detention basins are built;  however guidance from the SWCC on how to maintain the basins is not yet available and the District should formulate that guidance.

•Some nearby counties, such as DeKalb, are evaluating methods to use natural flood control measures. Suburban areas such as Forsyth also need to also look into these methods.
