For over 40 years—in both the private sector and government— I worked on environmental issues, in construction and in the protection of soil and water.
- As a project manager at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, I reviewed and approved erosion protection plans for waste from mining and uranium processing facilities, to protect citizens and nearby waterways.
- I managed projects at national consulting companies and at an insurance company (AIG) to clean up contaminated properties, including numerous rivers and streams. All of these projects included the preparation and implementation of soil erosion protection plans, a major responsibility of the Soil and Water Conservation Commission.
- Having retired from consulting roles, I want to help Forsyth County maintain and improve its waterways, and prevent erosion and deleterious runoff from farms, as well as commercial and housing developments in the county and throughout the Upper Chattahoochee River District.
